Varied interests Fisher is passionate about theatre — he loves “improv” — and is a confirmed “Cirqaholic.” “There’s not a single show that Cirque du Soleil has mounted that I’ve not seen,” he reports. Recently, he returned from LasVegas where the troupe reigns supreme: “I saw four different Cirque shows in four days. They actually have five different shows running there, but I was only in town for four days,” he says, the disap- pointment evident in his voice. These days, Fisher, like many lawyers, aims to find balance in his life. He has “a job he loves, a family I’m impassioned by, and I still find time for myself.” He describes himself as a “task- driven kind of guy” who loves to travel and spend family time at the cottage with his wife and three children (two are in university, while the third, at age 14, is already a competitive ski racer who recently earned a berth on the Ontario Development Team). Still somewhat the philosopher, Fisher informs his life by extensive volunteering with the CCCA, which he credits for “giving me a whole host of ideas,” and reading. “My world view stems, in part, from two regular sources,” he says.“The Economist, which I read from cover to cover each week, and Mad Magazine. I grew up with it, and it’s still funny.” ALENA GEDEONOVA Bev Cline is a history, legal and business writer in Toronto. AUTOMNE 2007 CCCA Canadian Corporate Counsel Association 55
