(Maplesoft), a leading provider of high-perform- ance software tools for engineering, science and mathematics, including the world’s most advanced symbolic computation engine. Early versions of Maplesoft’s technology were developed at the University of Waterloo more than 20 years ago. A Cybernet sub- sidiary acquired 100 per cent of Maplesoft’s outstanding shares by way of plan of arrangement in exchange for cash at closing and future earnout payments. Fairfax Financial Holdings Details: Fairfax Financial Holdings Limited (TSX, NYSE: FFH) completed its public offering of 2,881,844 subordinate voting shares at $347 (U.S.) per share, for gross proceeds of $1-billion and net proceeds, after commissions and expenses, of $983-million. The subordinate voting shares were sold through a syndicate of dealers co-led by CIBC, as sole bookrunner, BofA Merrill Lynch and Scotia Capital that also included BMO Capital Markets, RBC Capital Markets, Cormark Securities, GMP Securities and Citigroup.
