Still, with 21 per cent female employees and 18 per cent female managers at the company, she acknowledges that there’s still a ways to go. “Success for Agrium will be, ultimately, when we have complete inte- gration within the workforce.” OutsideAgrium,O’Donoghue’s time is taken up with her family: spouse Hugh Ross, who works in the oil and gas sector, and their two teenaged sons. Summers, they spend a lot of time at the lake — “We’re water sports people” — and O’Donoghue keeps up with her boys on the ski hills, the squash court and motocross trails, “if you can believe that.” In July, the family spent three weeks on safari in Africa. And while “work-life balance” tends to mean balancing on a surf- board, she credits both her partner- MARNIE BURKHART, JAZHART STUDIOS ship with Ross and Agrium’s business culture — “My boss’ mantra is ‘happy, healthy, and wise’” — for helping to keep life in perspective.
